OVERVIEW

V275C2 IV - SDMO - KOHLER | 220 kW 275 kVA

The V275C2 IV is a robust diesel generator built on a Volvo TAD734GE engine and paired with an SDMO AT01512T alternator, designed to deliver dependable standby and prime power for demanding commercial and industrial applications. Backed by an electronic governor and a mechanically welded, antivibration chassis, this unit is engineered for consistent performance and long service life.

  • Engine: Volvo TAD734GE, turbocharged, 6-cylinder inline configuration
  • ESP (standby) rating: 220 kWe / 275 kVA at 400/230V
  • PRP (prime power) rating: 200 kWe / 250 kVA at 400/230V
  • Frequency: 50 Hz, with speed regulation of 1500 RPM
  • Alternator: SDMO AT01512T, three phase, IP23 protection
  • Standard control panel: TELYS, with optional APM802 touchscreen upgrade
  • Compact version dry weight: 2200 kg
  • Soundproofed version dry weight: 3130 kg
  • Fuel tank capacity: 390 L
  • Acoustic pressure level at 7m: 67 dB(A) for the soundproofed enclosure
  • Version: Enclosed (Fully Weather Proof Silent Enclosure)
  • EPA Compliant: Export Only

Whether the application calls for emergency backup power or continuous variable load operation, the V275C2 IV meets ISO 8528-1 standards for both ESP and PRP ratings. Its combination of proven Volvo engineering and SDMO's alternator technology makes it a reliable choice for facilities that cannot afford downtime.

Engine Performance Built by Volvo

At the heart of the V275C2 IV is the Volvo TAD734GE, a turbocharged 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 7.15 cubic inches and a bore and stroke of 108 mm by 130 mm. The engine runs at a compression ratio of 17.1:1 and delivers a maximum standby power of 250 kW at rated RPM, with frequency regulation held tight at plus or minus 0.5 percent.

Fuel efficiency is strong across load ranges, consuming 53.40 L/h at 100 percent load and 42.60 L/h at 75 percent load, giving operators predictable runtime planning. The cooling system uses a glycol-ethylene coolant mix with a thermostat range of 83 to 95°C, supported by a fan rated at 3.80 kW to keep operating temperatures stable even under sustained demand.

SDMO Alternator Reliability

Paired with the Volvo engine is the SDMO AT01512T alternator, a three phase unit offering a continuous nominal rating of 250 kVA at 40°C and a standby rating of 275 kVA at 27°C. Efficiency at full load reaches 92.40 percent, and the alternator features AVR regulation with a recovery time of 500 ms following a 20 percent transient voltage dip.

With direct coupling, a single bearing design, and total harmonic distortion held under 2.5 percent at no load, this alternator is built to deliver clean, stable power output for sensitive equipment and critical operations.

Control Panel Options for the V275C2 IV

Every V275C2 IV ships standard with the TELYS control panel, an ergonomic interface offering electrical measurements, engine parameter monitoring, and alarm management through an intuitive scroll wheel and display screen.

For operations requiring more advanced oversight, the optional APM802 command and control system provides a full touchscreen interface designed for power plant management, ideal for hospitals, data centers, and industrial facilities that need extended monitoring and PLC-based regulation capabilities.

Dimensions and Configuration Options for the V275C2 IV

The V275C2 IV is available in both a compact open version and a fully soundproofed enclosure. The compact version measures 2900 mm in length and weighs 2200 kg dry, while the soundproofed M227 enclosure extends to 4004 mm in length and weighs 3130 kg dry, reducing acoustic pressure to 78 dB(A) at 1 meter. Both configurations share a 390 L fuel tank, giving buyers flexibility to choose the setup that best fits their site noise requirements and installation space.
