SDMO X800C: MTU-Powered Standby Reliability at 640 kWe

The SDMO X800C is a Performance Class G3 diesel generator driven by a 12-cylinder MTU 12V2000G65RE engine and paired with a Leroy-Somer LSA 49.1 M6 alternator, delivering 640 kWe standby and 582 kWe prime power at 50 Hz across a wide range of voltage configurations. 

Built on a mechanically welded chassis with antivibration suspension and pre-filled with oil and coolant to minus 30°C, the X800C is engineered for straightforward deployment in demanding standby and continuous power applications.

The soundproofed M427 enclosure version achieves an acoustic pressure level of 89 dB(A) at 1 metre and 80 dB(A) at 7 metres, while the base and canopy configuration reduces that further to 85 dB(A) at 1 metre and 76 dB(A) at 7 metres. 

Container options in ISO 20 and super-silenced CIR 20 Ssi configurations are also available, each providing a 500L integrated fuel tank for extended runtime capability.

X800C Engine and Configuration

The MTU 12V2000G65RE is a turbocharged V12 engine running at 1500 RPM with air-to-air direct charge cooling and electronic governor control for precise frequency regulation across all load conditions. 

The engine's proven MTU 2000 series architecture is widely regarded for its durability, long service intervals, and consistent performance in both intermittent standby and sustained prime power roles, making the X800C a sound choice for critical infrastructure applications.

X800C Alternator and Electrical Quality

The LSA 49.1 M6 alternator delivers a continuous nominal rating of 725 kVA at 40°C and a standby rating of 800 kVA, with a full load efficiency of 94.6% and total harmonic distortion held below 4% under both load and no-load conditions. 

Its brushless, direct-coupled design features Class H insulation, IP23 protection, short circuit maintenance capability of 3 In for 10 seconds, an engine starting capacity of 1985 kVA, and an unbalanced load acceptance ratio of 60%, providing dependable power quality across a broad range of installation types.

Control Panel Options

The X800C supports three control panel configurations to suit varying operational requirements. The M80 provides essential engine parameter monitoring including tachometer, coolant temperature, and oil pressure readouts for straightforward installations, while the TELYS adds full electrical measurement, comprehensive fault alarms, and USB and PC connectivity for more advanced oversight. 

For power plant environments requiring the highest level of control, the optional APM802 touchscreen system delivers IEC 61131-3 compliant PLC functionality, modular scalability, and a purpose-built human-machine interface well suited to hospitals, data centers, industrial facilities, and other mission-critical applications.
