Engine Performance Inside the X2200
The heart of the X2200 is the MTU 16V4000G23F, a 16-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine running at 1500 RPM with a maximum standby output of 1978 kW. A compression ratio of 16.5:1 and a BMEP of 18.86 bar speak to the engine's mechanical efficiency under sustained loads.
Exhaust gas exits at 480 degrees Celsius with a flow rate of 5,400 L/s, and the system accommodates a maximum back pressure of 500 mm EC. The cooling system uses Glycol-Ethylene coolant with a thermostat range of 79 to 92 degrees Celsius, keeping outlet water temperature at a controlled 100 degrees Celsius.
Alternator Specs That Set the X2200 Apart
The LSA 51.2 M60 alternator brings a continuous nominal rating of 2,050 kVA at 40 degrees Celsius and a standby rating of 2,255 kVA at 27 degrees Celsius. It operates at a power factor of 0.80, features AVR voltage regulation, and holds total harmonic distortion below 3.5% both at no load and on load.
With a single-bearing, brushless, and collarless design and an insulation class of H, this alternator is built for both reliability and longevity. The unit maintains short circuit capacity at three times rated current for 10 seconds, an important feature for protecting downstream equipment during fault conditions.
Flexible Control Options for the X2200
Three control panel options are available depending on your operational requirements. The M80 is a dual-function unit that provides basic instrument readout and a customer connection terminal block, ideal for straightforward monitoring applications.
The TELYS panel steps up with a full suite of electrical measurements, engine parameters, alarm functions, and remote communication capability via USB and PC connection. For large-scale power plant environments, the APM802 offers a 100% touchscreen HMI compliant with IEC 61131-3, designed specifically for hospitals, data centers, banks, and industrial facilities requiring high availability.
Containerized Deployment and Acoustic Solutions
For sites requiring a weatherproof or acoustically managed installation, the X2200 is available in two containerized configurations. The CPU40 Si container measures 12,192 mm x 2,438 mm x 2,896 mm with a 500 L fuel tank and produces an acoustic pressure level of 86 dB(A) at one meter.
The CPU40 Ssi super-silenced version matches the same physical dimensions but reduces acoustic pressure to 79 dB(A) at one meter and 71 dB(A) at seven meters, making it a strong choice for noise-sensitive sites. Both container options weigh approximately 26,500 to 27,500 kg dry and include integrated fuel storage for operational independence.
