OVERVIEW

SDMO X1250: MTU-Powered Excellence at 1000 kWe Standby

The SDMO X1250 is a high-output Performance Class G3 diesel generator driven by an 18-cylinder MTU 18V2000G65F engine and paired with a Leroy-Somer LSA 50.2 M6 alternator, delivering a full 1000 kWe standby and 909 kWe prime power at 50 Hz across all standard voltage configurations.

Built on a mechanically welded chassis with antivibration suspension and pre-filled with oil and coolant to minus 30°C, this generator is engineered for immediate deployment in the most demanding standby and continuous power applications.

Key Specifications:

  • ESP Rating: 1000 kWe / 1250 kVA at 400/230V
  • PRP Rating: 909 kWe / 1136 kVA at 400/230V

The X1250 is available in ISO 20 container configuration measuring 6058 x 2438 x 2896mm with a 500L integrated fuel tank, achieving an acoustic pressure level of 91 dB(A) at 1 metre. For noise-sensitive environments, the super-silenced CIR 20 Ssi container version reduces that figure to 83 dB(A) at 1 metre and 74 dB(A) at 7 metres.

X1250 Engine and Thermal Performance

The MTU 18V2000G65F is a turbocharged 18-cylinder engine producing a peak standby output of 1100 kW with a fan air flow capacity of 25.36 m3/s and an intake air flow of 1200 L/s for reliable thermal management under sustained full-load operation.

Heat rejection to exhaust reaches 733 kW with an additional 450 kW transferred to the coolant system, all maintained within a thermostat range of 75 to 88 degrees Celsius and a maximum outlet water temperature of 95 degrees Celsius.

X1250 Alternator and Electrical Quality

The LSA 50.2 M6 alternator delivers a continuous nominal rating of 1250 kVA and a standby rating of 1375 kVA, with full load efficiency of 95.1% and total harmonic distortion held below 3.5% under both load and no-load conditions.

Its brushless, direct-coupled construction features Class H insulation, IP23 protection, short circuit maintenance capability of 3 In for 10 seconds, and an engine starting capacity of 2895 kVA, making it a robust and versatile solution for critical power installations.

Control Panel Options

The X1250 supports three control panel configurations to suit a wide range of operational requirements. The M80 provides straightforward engine parameter monitoring with tachometer, coolant temperature, and oil pressure readouts for simpler installations, while the TELYS adds full electrical measurement capability, fault alarms, and USB and PC connectivity for more advanced oversight.

For power plant environments requiring the highest level of control, the optional APM802 touchscreen system delivers IEC 61131-3 compliant PLC functionality, modular scalability, and a purpose-built human-machine interface suited to hospitals, data centers, and large-scale industrial facilities.
