Mitsubishi Engine Performance Behind the T1400 IV

The Mitsubishi S12R-PTA engine at the core of the T1400 IV is a turbocharged 12 cylinder V configuration engine with a displacement of 49.03 cubic inches and a bore and stroke of 170mm x 180mm. Operating at 1500 RPM, it delivers a maximum standby power of 1220 kW with a compression ratio of 14 to 1. The electronic governor keeps frequency regulation within plus or minus 0.5 percent, ensuring stable power output even as loads shift during operation.

The cooling system uses a 300 liter radiator and engine capacity paired with a 30 kW fan capable of moving 25.90 cubic meters of air per second. Glycol ethylene coolant and a thermostat range of 82 to 94 degrees Celsius keep the engine within safe operating temperatures under sustained heavy use.

Leroy Somer Alternator Output and Efficiency

Paired with the engine is the LSA 50.2 L7 alternator, delivering a continuous nominal rating of 1350 kVA at 40 degrees Celsius and a standby rating of 1485 kVA at 27 degrees Celsius. Efficiency comes in at 95.30 percent under full load, with a power factor of 0.80. This alternator uses a brushless, collarless design to reduce wear points and simplify long term maintenance, backed by automatic voltage regulation for stable output across varying load conditions.

Control Panel Choices for the T1400 IV

The T1400 IV can be configured with one of three control panels depending on the level of monitoring required. The M80 provides essential engine readings such as tachometer, coolant temperature, and oil pressure through a straightforward, direct read instrument panel. 

The TELYS panel steps up functionality with a large display screen, a navigation wheel, electrical measurements, and alarm tracking for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage, along with USB and PC connectivity. 

For operations managing an entire power plant, the APM802 offers a full touchscreen interface built for hospitals, data centers, and industrial facilities that need centralized control and PLC integration.

Container Options for Transport and Deployment

For installations requiring a fully enclosed, transportable power solution, the T1400 IV is available in both ISO 20 and CIR 20 container configurations. The ISO 20 container brings acoustic pressure to 89 dB(A) at 1 meter with a dry weight of 14,932 kg, while the CIR 20 Ssi option reduces noise further to 85 dB(A) at 1 meter with a dry weight of 16,250 kg, giving facility managers flexibility depending on their acoustic and transport requirements.

Reliable Construction for Continuous Use

The T1400 IV is built on a mechanically welded chassis with antivibration suspension to withstand the stress of continuous operation. It includes exhaust compensators with flanges, a 24V charging alternator and starter, and a radiator rated for wiring temperatures up to 48/50 degrees Celsius under mechanical fan operation.
