OVERVIEW

ACBCMU800S-60T2F - MTU | 800 kW 1000 kVA Diesel Generator

The ACBCMU800S-60T2F from Broadcrown is a heavy duty industrial generator built around a 12 cylinder MTU diesel engine and a Cummins Generator Technologies Stamford alternator. Designed for facilities that demand substantial standby power, this unit delivers strong output while meeting EPA Tier 2 Flex emissions certification.

  • Engine: MTU 12V 2000 G85 TD, turbocharged, air to air aftercooled, 12 cylinder Vee form
  • Alternator: CGT Stamford HCI 634 G, single bearing, direct coupled
  • Standby (LTP) rating: 800 kWe / 1000 kVA at 440/254V
  • Prime (PRP) rating: 740 kWe / 925 kVA at 440/254V
  • Power factor: 0.8
  • Frequency: 60 Hz, three phase
  • Engine speed: 1800 RPM
  • Governing: "ADEC" Electronic Governor with ECU and CANBus integration
  • Dry weight (open set, including oil): 5875 kg
  • Version: Enclosed (Fully Weather Proof Silent Enclosure)
  • EPA Compliant: EPA Tier 2 Stationary Emergency

Every unit ships with a factory test certificate confirming performance before it leaves the facility. Built on a fully welded steel baseframe with lifting and jacking points, this generator is designed to withstand demanding industrial environments over a long service life.

MTU Engine Performance in the ACBCMU800S-60T2F

The MTU 12V 2000 G85 TD engine powering this generator is a turbocharged, air to air aftercooled 12 cylinder Vee form unit with a cubic capacity of 23.88 liters. Running at 1800 RPM, it produces a gross power of 891 kWm at standby, with net output of 848 kW after fan losses.

The "ADEC" electronic governor works alongside ECU and CANBus integration to keep the engine responsive under shifting loads while maintaining precise fuel delivery. Fuel consumption at 100 percent standby power comes in at 218.3 liters per hour, giving operators a clear picture of runtime costs for extended operation.

Stamford Alternator Engineered for Heavy Loads

Paired with the MTU engine is the CGT Stamford HCI 634 G alternator, a single bearing design directly coupled to the engine for efficient power transfer. Operating at a power factor of 0.8 with Class H insulation, the alternator is separately excited by a permanent magnet generator, a design that improves motor starting capability and fault current support.

Voltage regulation is held within plus or minus 0.5 percent through the MX 321 AVR system, giving facilities running sensitive or high inrush equipment the stable output they need.

Digital Control System and Monitoring

The standard control system on this model is the BC 7310, based on the Deep Sea Electronics DSE7310 digital auto start controller. It supports manual and automatic remote start along with full CANBus implementation for engine control and protection.

The LCD digital display shows coolant temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature, engine operating hours, battery charge status, and complete electrical readings including volts, amps, frequency, kW, kVA, and power factor.

Facilities needing more advanced functionality can step up to the BC 7320 for full AMF capability with integrated mains monitoring, or the BC 8610 and BC 8620 systems for set to set and set to mains synchronization across multiple generators.

Cooling and Thermal Management

Heat rejection at this power level is substantial, with the engine cooling water absorbing 345 kW and the charge cooler handling another 240 kW at standby output. A radiator with pressure cap and drain point manages coolant temperature, supported by a fully guarded engine driven cooling fan. Total coolant capacity reaches 25 liters, and the cooling system is designed to keep the engine within safe operating temperatures even under sustained heavy load.

Standard Features and Available Options

This generator arrives equipped with 24V starter batteries, a separate engine driven battery charging alternator, spin on oil and fuel filters, and a dry type air filter element. Heavy duty rubber anti-vibration mountings reduce operational stress on the baseframe, while various fuel system options allow the unit to be configured for specific site requirements.

A wide range of additional optional features is available, giving facility managers flexibility to tailor this generator to their exact power and monitoring needs.
