OVERVIEW

X2300UC2 II: 2300 kW MTU Generator

The X2300UC2 II is a heavy-duty 2300 kW, 2875 kVA diesel generator set built around a 16-cylinder MTU engine for large-scale industrial and power plant applications. Backed by a Leroy Somer alternator and a choice of advanced control panels, this generator delivers the kind of sustained, high-capacity output that mission-critical facilities depend on.

  • MTU 16V4000G83E engine, turbocharged, V-configuration, 16 cylinders
  • Electronic governor with frequency regulation of plus or minus 0.5 percent
  • LEROY SOMER LSA 51.2 VL90 alternator, three-phase, IP23 protection
  • Standby power rating of 2300 kW / 2875 kVA at 480/277V, 60Hz
  • Prime power rating of 2091 kW / 2614 kVA
  • Performance class G3 for transient response
  • Mechanically welded chassis with antivibration suspension
  • Air cooler rated for wiring temperatures of 38/40°C with electric fan
  • Exhaust compensators with flanges for thermal expansion management
  • 24V charge alternator and starter, delivered with oil
  • Version: Open Skid (Also Available Enclosed)
  • EPA Compliant: Export Only

This generator is engineered for demanding continuous-duty environments such as hospitals, data centers, and industrial power plants where uptime is non-negotiable. With Class H insulation, a robust cooling system, and a choice of three control panel options, the X2300UC2 II is built to perform at scale.

MTU Engine Power and Cooling System

The MTU 16V4000G83E engine runs at 1800 RPM with a turbocharged V-16 configuration and a displacement of 76.27 cubic inches, delivering a maximum standby output of 2508 kW at rated speed. Fuel consumption comes in at 551 L/hr at 100 percent load, 422 L/hr at 75 percent load, and 296 L/hr at 50 percent load.

The cooling system uses a glycol-ethylene coolant with an 870-liter radiator and engine capacity, keeping outlet water temperature at a controlled 100°C. Heat rejection to the exhaust reaches 1816 kW, with an additional 840/610 kW rejected to the coolant, reflecting the scale of thermal management built into this platform.

Leroy Somer Alternator Performance

The LSA 51.2 VL90 alternator delivers a continuous nominal rating of 2832 kVA at 40°C and a standby rating of 3115 kVA at 27°C, with an efficiency of 96.30 percent at full load. It operates on a single bearing with direct coupling and IP23 protection, using brushless technology without collars.

Total harmonic distortion stays below 3.5 percent both on load and off load, supporting clean power delivery for sensitive equipment. The alternator's Class H insulation and 4-pole design round out a build made for sustained heavy-duty operation.

Flexible Control Panel Options

Three control panel options let facilities match monitoring capability to their operational needs. The M80 serves as a dual-function terminal block and instrument panel, offering tachometer, working hours, coolant temperature, and oil pressure readouts. The TELYS panel steps up with a large display, electrical measurements, engine parameters, alarm tracking, and USB and PC connectivity for remote operation.

For large power plant applications, the APM802 offers a full touch-screen human-machine interface designed for hospitals, data centers, banks, oil and gas operations, and mining, with modular expansion built in as standard on generating sets from 275 kVA and up.

Enclosure and Container Options

The generator is available in CPU40 Si and CPU40 Ssi container configurations, both measuring 12,192 mm long, 2,438 mm wide, and 2,896 mm tall, with a 500-liter tank capacity. The Si version weighs 27,500 kg dry with an acoustic pressure level of 91 dB(A) at 1 meter, while the Ssi version weighs 28,520 kg dry and reduces noise to 83 dB(A) at 1 meter, dropping to 73 dB(A) at 7 meters for quieter operation where sound-sensitive siting matters.

Why Choose the X2300UC2 II

Built to ISO 8528-1 standards with a compact dry weight of 14,235 kg in its base configuration, the X2300UC2 II combines MTU's proven engine platform with Leroy Somer's alternator technology and genpowerusa's full range of control panel and enclosure options. For facilities that need serious continuous or standby capacity without compromise, this generator delivers the performance and monitoring flexibility that large-scale power installations require.
