OVERVIEW

SDMO X1000UC2 Diesel Generator: Megawatt-Class Power for Mission-Critical Facilities

When your operation requires power at the megawatt scale, the SDMO X1000UC2 delivers with the proven engineering of an MTU 16V2000G85E engine and an LSA 49.1 L11 alternator built for continuous, heavy-duty performance. This generator is engineered for hospitals, data centers, industrial plants, and other mission-critical facilities where reliability at scale is non-negotiable.

  • Engine: MTU 16V2000G85E, 16 cylinders in V arrangement, turbocharged
  • Alternator: LSA 49.1 L11, three phase, 4 pole design
  • Power output: 1000 kWe / 1250 kVA (ESP) and 909 kWe / 1136 kVA (PRP) at 480/277V
  • Frequency: 60 Hz with electronic governor and +/- 0.5% frequency regulation
  • Rated speed: 1800 RPM
  • Fuel consumption: 241 L/hr at 100% load
  • Cooling: Air/Air DC cooling system with glycol-ethylene coolant
  • Dry weight: 6,323 kg (compact version)
  • Insulation class H with AVR voltage regulation
  • Control panel options: M80, TELYS, or APM802
  • Version: Open Skid (Also Available Enclosed)
  • EPA Compliant: Export Only

Behind these numbers is a generator built to perform at the highest levels of continuous duty. Whether supplying standby emergency power or prime power for variable load applications, the X1000UC2 is engineered to meet ISO 8528-1 standards for facilities that simply cannot afford downtime.

Power Output Built for Multi-Voltage Flexibility

The X1000UC2 delivers exceptional output across three voltage configurations, giving facilities flexibility depending on their electrical infrastructure. At 480/277V, it produces 1000 kWe standby power and 909 kWe prime power, with standby amperage rated at 1504 amps.

At 440/254V, output remains the same with standby amperage rising to 1640 amps, while the 600/347V configuration holds the same power output with amperage dropping to 1203 amps. This adaptability makes the X1000UC2 a strong fit for large facilities with varied electrical requirements across different building systems.

Engineering Details of the X1000UC2 Engine and Alternator

The 16V2000G85E engine features a 130mm bore and 150mm stroke, a 16:1 compression ratio, and a turbocharged design supporting a maximum standby output of 1115 kW at rated RPM. Heat management at this scale is substantial, with 771 kW directed to exhaust, 385 kW to coolant, and 45 kW radiated to ambient air.

The LSA 49.1 L11 alternator complements this with a continuous nominal rating of 1250 kVA at 40°C and a standby rating of 1375 kVA at 27°C, achieving 95% efficiency at full load. Total harmonic distortion stays below 4% both on load and no load, delivering clean power suited to sensitive electronic systems in hospitals and data centers alike.

Built for Durability at Industrial Scale

Construction quality reflects the demands this unit is engineered to handle. The mechanically welded chassis includes antivibration suspension to absorb operational stress, while exhaust compensators with flanges manage thermal expansion over years of continuous service.

The radiator system uses mechanical fans built for demanding thermal environments, and the unit ships standard with oil and coolant rated to -30°C, ensuring readiness in cold climates. A 24V charge alternator and starter round out the electrical starting system for dependable cold starts.

Control Panel Options for the X1000UC2

Operators can choose between three control panel options depending on facility needs. The M80 offers essential engine parameters like tachometer, working hours, coolant temperature, and oil pressure through a straightforward instrument panel.

The TELYS provides a more advanced interface with electrical measurements, alarm monitoring, and USB/PC connectivity for remote operation. For large-scale power plant management, the APM802 offers a complete touch screen HMI compliant with IEC 61131-3, purpose-built for hospitals, data centers, and industrial facilities that require maximum equipment availability and easy system expansion.
