MTU 16V2000 Engine Performance
The MTU 16V2000 G86S is a 16-cylinder, V-configuration, 4-stroke diesel engine producing a maximum output of 1,371 kWm (1,839 bhp) at 1800 RPM. Its Common Rail fuel injection system delivers precise fuel metering across all load levels, resulting in efficient combustion and low emissions.
An electronic isochronous ADEC governor provides speed regulation within plus or minus 0.25%, ensuring extremely stable frequency output under variable load conditions. Fuel consumption scales efficiently with load at 276 L/h (73 gal/h) at full standby, 211 L/h (56 gal/h) at 75%, and 146 L/h (38 gal/h) at 50%.
The integrated radiator cooling system is rated for ambient temperatures up to 50°C (122°F), making the ACBCMU1000S suitable for operation in hot climates without derating concerns in most applications. Total system coolant capacity is 188 litres (50 gal), and the engine oil system holds 114 litres (30.1 gal).
ACBCMU1000S Alternator and Electrical Output
The Leroy Somer brushless alternator is a single-bearing, 4-pole rotating field design with 2/3 pitch windings and AREP auxiliary excitation, delivering 300% sustained short circuit current for up to 10 seconds to support motor starting loads.
A digital solid-state volts-per-hertz automatic voltage regulator maintains output regulation within plus or minus 0.25%, and the alternator is self-ventilated and drip-proof with full amortisseur windings and 125% rotor balancing for superior voltage waveform quality.
The 12-lead configuration supports multiple voltage outputs from 208V through to 4160V without requiring major hardware changes, and total harmonic distortion is held below 5% at full load. NEMA MG1, IEEE, and ANSI standards compliance is standard across all configurations.
Fuel System and Runtime Autonomy
The ACBCMU1000S is available with an incorporated metallic single-wall day tank sized to deliver practical daily autonomy without the need for external fuel infrastructure at most installations.
At 75% prime power load, operators can expect substantial runtime before refueling is required, and the fuel system includes flexible fuel connectors and a properly sized return line to support reliable operation across varying ambient conditions. The maximum fuel lift from tank to engine is 5 meters (16 ft), and the recommended fuel grade is diesel No. 2 for optimal combustion performance and emissions compliance.
ACBCMU1000S Silent Enclosure and Control System
The Broadcrown silent enclosure is constructed for weatherproof, export-ready deployment, offering acoustic attenuation for noise-sensitive installation sites and corrosion protection suited to a wide range of international climates.
The enclosure features service access doors for routine maintenance without major disassembly, and the cooling air system is sized to maintain optimal thermal performance at the rated ambient temperature ceiling. The digital control panel is microprocessor-based with CANBus ECU communications, multilingual LCD display, comprehensive engine and generator protection functions, programmable inputs and outputs, event recording, and an IP54 front panel rating with integrated gasket for dusty or damp environments.
The system is NFPA 110 compatible and backed by MTU's standard 2-year international warranty and a global product support network spanning every major region.
