Every unit ships with a factory test certificate and a full operation and maintenance manual, giving buyers documented proof of performance before the generator ever reaches the job site. The fully welded steel baseframe with lifting and jacking points, heavy duty rubber anti-vibration mountings, and fully guarded engine-driven fan reflect the build quality expected from a machine designed for continuous duty in demanding environments.
Cummins QST30 G5 Engine Performance Inside the BCC 1000S-60 T2
The Cummins QST30 G5 is a 12-cylinder, 50-degree Vee, 4-stroke diesel engine with turbocharged and 2-pump 2-loop charge cooling, producing a gross standby power of 1112 kWm (1491 bhp) and a net standby power of 1076 kWm (1443 bhp) after accounting for fan losses.
The engine operates at 1800 RPM and is managed by an electronic governor with full ECU integration, providing precise load response and fuel metering across all operating conditions. At standby rating, exhaust gas temperature reaches 525 degrees Celsius with a flow rate of 3.67 cubic meters per second, and the system handles a maximum exhaust back pressure of 6.8 kPa.
The engine's altitude capability extends to 1600 meters, and thermal management is handled by a radiator cooling air flow of 19.0 cubic meters per second with a maximum coolant temperature of 104 degrees Celsius. Total oil capacity including filters is 154 liters, with typical oil consumption above 250 hours of operation at just 0.65 L/h.
Alternator and Electrical System
The CGT Stamford HCI 634 alternator is a self-excited, single-bearing, direct-coupled unit running in a three-phase, 4-pole, Winding 311 configuration at a power factor of 0.8. Voltage regulation is held to within plus or minus 0.5% by the MX 321 AVR, and insulation class H ensures the alternator operates reliably across a wide temperature range.
The electrical system runs on 24V with two series 624 batteries providing a combined SAE CCA of 1010 amps, supported by a separate engine-driven battery charging alternator to maintain starting readiness at all times. Spin-on oil and fuel filters along with a dry-type air filter element simplify routine servicing, while the main line circuit breaker provides complete output protection as a standard fitment.
BCC 1000S-60 T2 Control System Options
The standard control system is the BC 7210, based on the Deep Sea Electronics DSE7210 Digital Auto Start controller, which provides manual and automatic remote start capability with LCD readout of coolant temperature, oil pressure, volts, amps, frequency, engine hours, and battery voltage.
An automatic cool-down timer and emergency stop button are included as standard, along with ample auxiliary inputs and outputs for customer-specific integration requirements. For installations requiring enhanced monitoring, the BC 7310 and BC 7320 upgrades add pre-alarms for low oil pressure and high coolant temperature, digital kW, kVA, and power factor display, under/over voltage protection, over current protection, and full RS485 telemetry with SAE J1939 CANBus.
The BC 7320 specifically adds full AMF functionality with integrated mains monitoring and generator/mains contactor control, while the BC 7510 and BC 7520 systems extend capability further with set-to-set and set-to-mains synchronisation for multi-generator paralleling installations.
Sound Levels and Installation Considerations
The BCC 1000S-60 T2 open set produces an overall sound pressure level of 110 dB(A) at one meter in free field conditions, with peak levels of 105 dB(A) at 500 Hz. Industrial silencers are supplied loose with each unit to allow flexible installation into existing exhaust routing configurations.
All power ratings are established in accordance with ISO 8528-1 and ISO 3046-1 under standard reference conditions of 25 degrees Celsius, 100 kPa barometric pressure, and 30% relative humidity, with derating applicable at higher altitudes or elevated ambient temperatures per Broadcrown's published guidelines.
