OVERVIEW

2000 AMP ASCO Transfer Switch, 3 Pole NEMA3R 480V
ASCO ATS Series 300 3ATSA32000NG0M

The ASCO 2000 AMP Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) can handle movement of large power loads from grid to generator sourcing in the event of a power outage or interruption. Equipped for use in light industrial and commercial spaces, the ASCO 2000 AMP ATS is appropriate for use in agricultural structures, retail facilities, warehouses and a variety of other businesses.

What is an Automatic Transfer Switch?

When grid power fails, many businesses cannot allow machinery and other equipment to sit idle or without power while waiting for the issue to be resolved. When continual operation is essential to a facility, switching power loads from the grid to generators during outages keeps machines running. Switching manually requires a person on the premises, but an Automatic Transfer Switch handles the job without human intervention.

How does the ASCO 2000 AMP automatic transfer switch work?

The ASCO 2000 AMP Automatic Transfer Switch is programmed with logic and features smart controls that sense when grid power is down or abnormal. At that time, the ATS sends a signal to generators, powering them on. The ATS waits until generators are up to power, as moving entire loads to a generator before appropriate voltages are reached can blow the system. Once machines or facilities are moved to backup power, the ATS continues monitoring grid power. When power is restored, the ATS switches loads back to traditional power sources and waits an appropriate time period before powering generators down. Since the ATS draws power from a source itself prior to moving other loads, it will never move machines or facilities to a dead power source.

Advantages of your ASCO 2000 AMP Automatic Transfer Switch

The ASCO 2000 AMP ATS allows one of the largest power load flows of all the Series 300 switches, but it retains the smart design of the series. Though larger than some other Series 300 switches, the 2000 AMP model is still streamlined and features front-facing controls for quick and painless inspection. Front-facing design also allows integration into any environment and flush wall mounting without disrupting access or cable issues.

The ASCO 2000 AMP ATS features a rugged design that holds up in many environments, so you can rely on automatic switching through the years. A single-solenoid design is interlocked, so the ATS can never cause contacts to come into contact with dual power sources at the same time, reducing the chance of electrical accidents and other issues. With a smart switch at the helm of grid-to-generator management at all hours, business owners and site operators can rest easier when no one is at the facility.
