MTU 16V2000G45E Engine Performance

The MTU 16V2000G45E is a 16-cylinder, 4-stroke turbocharged diesel engine running at a fixed 1800 RPM with liquid cooling and an electronic isochronous governor providing extremely accurate speed regulation within plus or minus 0.5%. Built to U.S. EPA and CARB Tier 2 standards for stationary applications, it delivers robust standby output with the durability and worldwide service support that MTU's heavy-duty industrial engine platform is known for. 

A radiator rated for maximum ambient temperatures of 48°C (118°F) with a mechanical fan ensures reliable thermal management even in challenging environments, and dry-type air, fuel, and oil spin-on filters are all factory installed.

900kW Generator Alternator and Electrical Output

The Leroy Somer LSA49.1L10 is a 12-lead, single-bearing, brushless alternator with IP23 drip-proof protection and Class H/H insulation. It is equipped with two significant performance upgrades as standard. The AL11 AREP auxiliary excitation system provides PMG-grade performance with 300% short circuit reactance for enhanced motor starting capability sustained for up to 10 seconds. 

The R450 automatic voltage regulator delivers plus or minus 0.5% voltage regulation with excitation ceiling setting, overload protection, and underspeed protection via U/f and LAM function, making this alternator configuration well suited to sites with demanding motor loads or sensitive equipment requiring tight voltage stability.

Fuel System and Runtime Autonomy

The incorporated metallic single-wall day tank holds 930 litres (245 gallons) in the silent enclosure configuration, providing substantial on-board fuel capacity for extended runtime without external fuel infrastructure. 

An electronic level sensing system monitors fuel status continuously, and the tank is paired with programmable alarms and shutdown protection to prevent fuel starvation. The 20-foot ISO container configuration includes a 500L (132 gallon) tank option for deployments where containerized transport and international sea freight are priorities, with the ISO container carrying full CSC certification for seaworthiness.

900kW Generator Enclosure and Construction

The IP56 rated super silent enclosure is constructed from 12-gauge electro-zinc coated steel processed through phosphatizing degreasing, non-chromic passivation, osmosis purified rinsing, and high-durability polyester resin thermosetting powder paint for maximum corrosion resistance. 

Up to 51mm of acoustic insulation with a hydrocarbon sealing film meeting UL 94 HF1 and FMVSS 302 flammability classifications keeps noise to a minimum, supported by a 29dB(A) internally mounted critical silencer. 

The 100% modular design allows the complete enclosure to be removed or installed in under 30 minutes without disassembly, and multi-personnel service doors provide easy access to the controller, breaker, fuel fill, oil fill, and battery. 

A vertical cooling air discharge grille redirects airflow up and away from the enclosure to further reduce ambient noise, and the enclosure meets and exceeds NFX41002 salt spray, NFT30049 UV performance, and NFT30038 paint adhesion test standards.
