This unit includes the Leroy Somer AREP auxiliary excitation system as a standard upgrade, a PMG-grade enhancement that delivers 300% short circuit reactance and significantly improved motor starting capability, sustaining three times rated current for 10 seconds to support the starting demands of large motor loads and compressors. 

The R438 AVR upgrade further enhances performance with excitation ceiling setting, underspeed protection via U/f function, and LAM load acceptance management, all contributing to tighter voltage control during sudden load transients. Together, the AREP and R438 combination represents a meaningful step up in alternator capability that is typically available only as a paid upgrade on competing products.
