General Power offers EPA Flex diesel generators through our line of GENPOWERUSA gensets. EPA Flex generators are exempted from some of the higher emissions standards. This intermediate standard is called the Transition Program for Equipment Manufacturers, better known as T.P.E.M. or flexibility program. Under this standard, generator manufacturers are allowed some flexibility in complying with EPA Tier 4 regulations. These GENPOWERUSA gensets are 100% designed, engineered, assembled and tested in the United States.
General Power also stocks emergency standby power generators for use in the United States. Emergency standby power gensets are exempt from EPA emission standards for diesel generators because of their intended temporary use. The EPA has ruled that these Tier 2 and Tier 3 engine generators sufficiently reduce emissions and so don’t require such gensets to comply with Tier 4 Interim and Tier 4 Final rules in the U.S. Because regulations vary for emergency and non-emergency generator sets, and required EPA emergency generator rules compliance also varies by the size and year of the generator set, it's a good idea to check if your generator is compliant with local and state regulations.
